How to start channelling in 5 simple steps

Channelling comes from many places and in different ways. For me channelling is about removing that self part of me that questions whether what I am writing or drawing is good enough. Channelling is tapping into those unconscious parts of ourselves bringing them to light. It is about allowing our unconscious to create some writing, some art, a song, some music. When I did my interview on YouTube with David Ditchfield, he shared with us his NDE and on his website is a piece of music he composed following this. I cried listening to it as it felt truly that it was from another space and time. The same goes for his paintings he creates. You can check out my interview with him here.

I have written since I was a kid. I always had a diary and began writing my thoughts from the age of twelve. Prior to that I would write my own stories. It wasn’t until after my spiritual awakening back in 2008 that someone mentioned channelling to me. In 2017 I remember having this moment where all of a sudden I was drawn to a number of channellers on YouTube such as Lee Harris, Bracha Goldsmith and Rob Gaulthier. As I listened to them I realised that I was doing what they were doing. I had been to the local spiritualist church back in 2016 with a friend who had been told he could do mediumship. One of the first classes required us to channel through writing. What was I going to write? Where would I start? All of a sudden the words, Thou art, popped into my head. Thou art? Who speaks like that I thought. The words came again so I started to write. I ended up writing a poem with the help of William Shakespeare. He told me that people always thought he was so serious because of the paintings of him, but he actually had a good sense of humour. I shared this first piece of channelling in a Facebook group, only to be told by someone that I should renounce myself to Christ. Not sure why but hey ho.

I carried on with channelling through writing and then another BOOM. I read Bringers of the Dawn by Barbara Marciniak, written in the 1970’s. She had channelled the Pleiadeans and had shared their messages. As I read it I kept thinking, I’ve said that. Oh my god, I’ve said that too. So sometimes when we say things and we don’t realise where that thing is coming from, we may be channelling. My example was that the word should needed to be eradicated from the dictionary because it implied blame and regret.

Channelling can also come through using your voice, playing with sounds and words. It can come through via the words you say to friends and family. It may come through when you sit down to write a Facebook post or do a TikTok video. When you are channelling through writing, the words are generally ones of love or divine inspiration. Words meant to help and heal others along their journey. So how do you do it?

  1. In order to create the right environment for channelling I recommend meditating. This might be for 5 mins, 20 or longer. The reason behind meditating first is that it tends to shut down that logical, dismissive part of your brain telling you, you can’t do this.
  2. Have a pen and paper close to end. When you have finished meditating write the first words that come to your mind. If you get more than one or two write them all down and just allow whatever pops into your mind to go onto the page. It doesn’t have to make sense to you
  3. If you reach a break in your writing, you might ask who am I communicating with? Who am I channelling? Is there anything else you would like me to write? Sometimes you may be given a name, maybe one you don’t recognise or maybe one you do. Sometimes, as I have had in the past, you get an abrupt no, I am done for now. In which case you can put down your pen and paper.
  4. Depending on the message depends if you want to share it. It is much easier to share your writing on social media now. Find a pic on your phone or Canva and add your words to it. You can pop a link to your website underneath if you have one or a link to your social media channels.
  5. There is no hierarchy when it comes to channelling. I believe everyone is capable of doing it. Just because some people have been doing it for years and are successful doesn’t mean there isn’t space for more channellers. Even if one person hears your words, your song, your music or sees your art, it makes a huge difference.

If you have any questions on channelling pop them in the comments below and let me know where you are at on your channelling journey. You can also head over to my YouTube channel here to see channellings between myself and John Lennon, Princess Diana, Winston Churchill and William Wallace, amongst other well known leaders.

I will be sharing a couple of my drawings and words to go with them in my next blog post
