Why Tarot is a great tool for learning to tap into your intuition

When I got my first set of tarot cards it was back in 2010. I didn’t like them. They were really plain, not much colour on them and didn’t resonate with me. I decided to give them away as I knew I couldn’t read them. I bought myself a pack of Rider Waite cards. This was more like it. I also found the Tarot Bible really useful as all of the images were similar to the cards. Some books are completely different, which can make learning to read them difficult. Some people are scared of the images on the Tarot. The Tower, the Devil, Ten of Swords can look scary in a reading but depending on the person and the situation all have different meanings. Tarot can sometimes force us to look at the shadow side of ourselves and others. I have myself, put the cards back in the pack when I deemed them ‘negative’ but that’s just me refusing to accept my situation at the time.

When you first start tarot it is good to pull a card a day or three cards for the week ahead and put them somewhere you can see them and reflect on them. Write down what comes to mind for you when you pick that card. Over time the tarot can help you to tap into your intuition and learn more about yourself. When you feel confident reading them for yourself you can begin to read them for others. I started by offering free readings in my Facebook group. This helped me to gain experience, confidence and valuable feedback. The more I practised, the better I got. I started sharing weekly readings on my YouTube channel. You can then apply what you learn from reading tarot to oracle cards too. If tarot doesn’t resonate with you, you can learn to read oracle cards instead. Sometimes they are quite specific oracle cards and sometimes more general, however you will still find that certain themes appear in the cards. One thing I love about reading tarot is that even if three people got the same card, the messages coming through would be different. Why? Because you aren’t just telling the person what the card means, you are tuning into your intuition and telling the person what they need to hear right now.

I would love to hear about your tarot or oracle journey. Let me know in the comments below. If you would like to learn how to read tarot subscribe to my email list below 🙂
