How does distance healing work?

I was asked this today so thought I would try and share my perceptions on this. When I first learnt Reiki back in 2008, I had no idea about energy or healing. The only reason I wanted to learn it was because I had a Reiki session and didn’t get it. The only reason I went for a session was because I was working 40 plus hours a week in a retail management position, broke up with my boyfriend at the time and needed something. My friend had told me about Reiki back in 2002 so I decided to book a session. The lady I went to asked me to lie on the bed, fully clothed I may add, then told me about fairies and dragons etc. I thought she was crazy. What a waste of £30 I thought as I left. Little did I know that the work she had done would start me off on a journey. A journey of discovery. Now I am the crazy lady who tells people things 🙂

When I did my Reiki teacher training in 2011 I was taught about distant healing. I didn’t get it. Surely you have to be in the room with the person for the healing to work? It took me six years to understand this wasn’t the case. Through lockdown I began to offer distance healing. All I needed was your full name. I set the intention to tune into the person who wanted the healing. At a time scheduled I would set the intention that I wanted to offer that person healing. Just like in a 121 session I began working on the chakras. I would record on a voice note what was coming through for me and what that person needed to know. The feedback was amazing.

One lady asked me to do a distant healing session on her. The words that came into my mind was that she had cancer in the stomach lining. She was awaiting a diagnosis from the doctor. Two weeks later she came back to me. I have cancer in my stomach lining. How did I know that? I don’t have the answer but my feeling is we are capable of tuning into another’s energy from afar, regardless of time or space. We worked together for three months and sadly she passed over in 2022. She was in her late 40’s with two young children. I sobbed at her funeral. Could I have helped her anymore? Reiki is not a solution to cancer or any other illness. However, her husband messaged me to let me know that she had found our sessions invaluable and had helped her.

When I do readings all I need is a full name and phone number. I set the intention to tune into that person and ask what guidance they need to hear. The feedback I have had has always been positive. You don’t need to be in the same room as someone to offer them Reiki or guidance. It is about intention and energy. A willingness to receive the energy sent. I have had numerous sessions with therapists where they send energy and I can feel it as they are doing it. If you feel something amazing, if not that is also OK. It still works regardless of whether you feel it or not.
